Milorad Dodik said he has an excellent relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, while stressing that he also seeks the best possible cooperation with the United States and even Brussels.
“There is no question that I have excellent relations with Putin, but I am not ‘Putin’s man,’ as they claim in Brussels. They have this paranoia. I was in Brussels and there was no street lighting, and they said it was because of President Putin. I asked what that had to do with Putin,” Dodik said.
Speaking on the podcast of U.S. President Donald Trump’s ally Wayne Allyn Root, Dodik argued that Europe is facing a lack of leadership and resources and has lost the values on which it was founded.
“They do not understand President Donald Trump’s administration, and there are major misunderstandings there. These are the circumstances in which I am trying to do the best I can to maintain good relations with both the United States and Russia, and even with Brussels,” Dodik said.
He also criticized European migration policies, arguing that demographic and political changes linked to migration were making such cooperation increasingly difficult.
According to Dodik, these developments are beginning to undermine what he considers the fundamental fabric and foundations of Europe.
“Europe is the loser,” Dodik concluded.
