American general and former national security adviser to Donald Trump, Michael Flynn, said today in Banja Luka that a country needs a decisive leader who is not afraid to take risks and who turns promises into action.
Speaking at the European Summit on Economy and Security, Flynn stressed that he values leaders, organizations and individuals who follow through on what they say they will do.
“We are here because our leaders took risks. As we grow older, we become less willing to take risks, and one day we may wake up wondering where our lives have gone,” Flynn said.
He emphasized that societies need “people who take concrete action, because many talk about what should be done, while very few actually put those ideas into practice.”
“That requires effort, knowledge, resources and courage,” he added.
Flynn stated that his goal, as an American, is to fight for and protect America.
“And our goal, as Gold Institute president Eli Gold said, is the fight for freedom,” Flynn stressed.
Earlier, in a statement to the media, Flynn said that the delegation came to Banja Luka to promote freedom.
“We do that everywhere in the world. Freedom allows nations to be innovative, it allows people to speak, think and believe freely. That is what today’s discussion is about,” Flynn said, adding that anyone who claims freedom is not necessary has questionable motives and values.
