Borac Banja Luka and Sloga Doboj have learned their opponents for the second round of the EHF European Cup.
Mirko Mikić’s Borac will face PAOK Thessaloniki, while Sloga will take on Azerbaijani side Kur, according to the draw.
Borac head coach Mirko Mikić said his team was not particularly fortunate in the draw, although he acknowledged that they could have been paired with an even stronger opponent.
“They finished third in the Greek championship. Their squad includes a large number of international players, mostly Egyptians. We need to play well in the first match in Thessaloniki so that, in the return leg at home and in front of our supporters, we can secure a place in the next round. We need to analyze them thoroughly and prepare as well as possible for these two matches,” Mikić said.
The matches in this stage of the competition are scheduled for October 17–18 and October 24–25.
Borac will play the first leg away in Thessaloniki before hosting PAOK in Banja Luka for the return match.
Sloga will follow the same schedule, playing the opening match away against Kur before hosting the Azerbaijani side in Doboj for the second leg.
