Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović will attend the traditional reception in New York hosted by the U.S. president for heads of state and government attending the UN General Assembly, RTRS reported.
Chairman of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović will also attend the reception.
According to RTRS, BiH has previously been represented at the reception only by the chairman of the Presidency, but this year that practice has changed.
The only previous exception cited by RTRS was in 2014, when Presidency member Nebojša Radmanović also attended the UN General Assembly. However, his participation at the time was based on an agreed position of the BiH Presidency rather than a direct invitation from the U.S. president.
Ahead of the reception, Cvijanović also held talks with Susie Wiles, White House Chief of Staff to U.S. President Donald Trump.
Wiles is regarded as one of the most influential figures in the Trump administration and one of the president’s closest advisers.
