The book “The Tsar’s Bell-Ringer, a Shot at the Conscience” by writer Marko Marković was presented at the Ivo Andrić Memorial Classroom in Višegrad.
The book is Marković’s sixth novel. He is regarded as one of the notable contemporary Serb writers.
“We are people who love wisdom, who seek to look deeply into a person, to find and feel them, and to experience everything that lies within the human soul. That is what the great Dostoevsky wrote about in his works, as did Tolstoy and other literary giants,” Marković said.
Ivana Mačar of the Ivo Andrić National Library in Višegrad said that presenting the book in this format gives readers an opportunity to learn more about its themes and characters.
“Everyone who loves the classics and literature written in the Russian literary tradition will enjoy Marko’s new novel,” Mačar said.
