Milorad Dodik said that Orthodox Serbs have respected funeral rites for centuries and accused BiH Defense Minister Zukan Helez of competing to demonstrate hostility toward the Serb people.
Dodik said Helez would not be the one to tell Serbs what they are or are not allowed to do.
“His drunken mind came up with that, and he thinks that the more he barks, the more attention he will get. At the same time, they want to say that they are fighting for BiH. Which BiH?” Dodik asked.
He argued that Helez contributes neither to stability and peace nor to anything that could help preserve BiH, accusing him of repeatedly coming forward whenever there is an opportunity to express hostility toward Serbs and Serbia.
Dodik said Helez had no authority to speak on behalf of BiH and, when speaking in his own name, described him as “an ordinary fool” incapable of saying anything meaningful other than insulting Serbs.
Dodik also claimed that BiH is becoming increasingly divided and is “falling apart like a corpse that cannot be put back together.”
“Once you are in the state of a corpse, it is over. The next stage is decomposition. That is BiH. They can use their rigged courts to prosecute whatever and whomever they want, but we will see how far that goes,” Dodik said.
He stressed that the funeral of General Ratko Mladić of the Army of Republika Srpska was a religious Orthodox ceremony rooted in traditions that Serbs have observed for centuries.
“He needs to know, since apparently he does not, that we light candles for both the living and the dead. In our churches, we pray equally for the living and the dead. I am not interested in their religious rites. I respect everyone. But this hysteria that is taking place is not merely about Mladić, as they want to portray it. It is a story about BiH,” Dodik concluded.
