Festival of the best Russian children’s films “Tales of Childhood” held in Banja Luka

For the first time, the Festival of the Best Russian Films for Children – “Tales of Childhood” was held at the Russian Center of the Faculty of Philology, University of Banja Luka. The event featured screenings of some of the most popular animated and live-action films from Russia, intended for elementary school students.

Young audiences in Banja Luka had the opportunity to enjoy top Russian film productions for children, presented with Serbian subtitles.

The goal of the festival is to promote Russian cinema and build cultural bridges between children and adults.

“Our aim was to present the best film productions here in Banja Luka — the most popular films of 2024 and 2023, including the best comedies, nature-themed films, and animated features,” said Filip Kudryashov, director of the “Tales of Childhood” festival.

The event was organized in cooperation with the Cinematheque of Republika Srpska, the International Foundation for the Spiritual Unity of Orthodox Nations, the Vifsaida company, and the Embassy of Russia in BiH, with the support of the Moscow City Administration.

“Through this festival, we contribute to mutual understanding between our peoples and promote family and Orthodox values. In addition to this festival, Filip Kudryashov founded the ‘Strong Orthodox Spirit’ and ‘Defenders of the Fatherland’ festivals, the latter of which was held here in April last year,” said Yury Pichugin, advisor at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in BiH.

Following Banja Luka, the films will also be screened in other cities across Republika Srpska.
