President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that he will not accept a potential verdict from the Court of BiH that would prohibit his political activities. However, he believes that political relations in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be clarified before that happens.
“It should be noted that this process has not yet started, nor do I think it will start soon. They say that we are delaying, and I ask them, ‘Why are you in a hurry? What bothers you if I come regularly to court, do you have any objections?’ You expected Dodik to come to the courtroom, now enjoy. And in the end, you won’t enjoy it; you will end up as losers,” said Dodik for Glas Srpske.
He emphasized that their mentality of resolving state matters in this way will not succeed.
“Building a state doesn’t happen that way. Do you think anything will change if you remove Dodik? It just shows how foolish you are. Nothing will change,” said Dodik, who is also the leader of the SNSD.
Responding to the question of what the goal of the judicial process against him is, Dodik said that he has never identified himself with Republika Srpska and that he is very aware of his role and the fact that he is there as long as he has the support of the people.
“Of course, I will strive to continue leading it, but one day it will no longer be possible, and that will be logical. Some think they will bring down Republika Srpska or the SNSD if there is no Dodik. However, it is not easy to break apart a structure of good people, despite the fact that there are scoundrels among us. But the majority of people in the SNSD are oriented patriotically,” said Dodik.
“He emphasized that the Vice President of the SNSD, Željka Cvijanović, is very capable of advancing the narrative about Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EU and could likely be a candidate for a commissioner in Brussels tomorrow, but that it has never crossed her mind.”
“In Sarajevo, the misconception prevails that everything must end with punishing the Serbs,” said Dodik.
When it comes to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dodik stated that formally and legally, the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina no longer exists after the departure of the second Serbian judge from that institution.
“It is not filled as envisaged,” said Dodik, adding that Serbian judges will not be appointed to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina until an agreement is reached on the method of selecting judges to replace foreigners.
He mentioned that nothing changed last year in relation to the federal partners, and the best example of that is when the SDA proposed amendments to the Election Law, and the “trojka” supported it, while the SNSD and HDZ BiH, which constitute the majority, were against it.
“ When something needs to be done against Serbs and Croats, Muslims will unite. They will justify it with this or that. In any normal country, when something like this happens, partnerships would fall apart. That ‘troika’ is very dependent on the SDA, which is undoubtedly still a political extension of the Islamic Community. We know how key officials in Sarajevo were chosen in the past, just as they were ordered in the mosque,“ said Dodik.
