Dodik: Republika Srpska enjoys a favourable geopolitical position and maintains good relations with the United States

The geopolitical position of Republika Srpska is undoubtedly favourable today, as it maintains good relations with the new United States administration, the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China, SNSD leader Milorad Dodik said during a public forum in Gradiška.

Addressing citizens on the topic of Republika Srpska’s geopolitical position, Dodik stated that, despite global instability and uncertainty, Republika Srpska has managed to preserve internal stability, enabling it to actively defend its interests both domestically and internationally.

“Today’s world is no longer unipolar. It is becoming multipolar and moving towards the formation of several global centres of power. In such circumstances, Republika Srpska’s position is stable because we are building and maintaining direct and constructive relations with key global actors, from the new American administration to the Russian Federation and China,” Dodik said.

He argued that Republika Srpska is the only politically stable and functional entity within Bosnia and Herzegovina that operates in the interests of its citizens, while describing the rest of the country as being in a constant state of political turmoil.

Dodik sharply criticised the current functioning of state-level institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, claiming that joint institutions are attempting to impose decisions on Republika Srpska in a manner contrary to the Constitution, which he said contributes to instability.

“Such an approach has led to the complete failure of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s foreign policy, which today represents only one political component and nothing else. False information is being sent to partners across Europe and the world, which is why it is our duty to clearly present both to our people and to international partners our own perspective and the actual situation,” the SNSD leader stated.

He reiterated his position that Bosnia and Herzegovina has, under the influence of the international community, become “a colony and protectorate governed by third-rate foreigners”, acting outside the interests of its constituent peoples.

Dodik also announced that, following the upcoming elections, SNSD intends to pursue the goals of Republika Srpska’s sovereignist policy with even greater determination.

“All peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina are dissatisfied with the current arrangement – Serbs, Croats and Bosniaks alike. We believe that every nation has the right to its own state. We do not deny that right to Bosniaks or Croats. Equally, we Serbs believe that we have the right to our own state, and we work towards that objective every day,” Dodik concluded in Gradiška.
