In a statement, the Office warned that the attack demonstrated the continuing dangers posed by antisemitism, Islamist extremism and terrorism.

“This attack is another serious warning that antisemitism, Islamist extremism and terrorism remain real threats to the security of the Jewish people and the State of Israel, as well as to everyone who opposes ideologies of hatred and violence,” the statement said.

The Office emphasized that such threats must be met with clear and consistent condemnation.

“In the face of such threats, there must be no political ambiguity, selective condemnation or attempts to downplay their seriousness,” it stated.
