Milorad Dodik has congratulated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Likud’s election victory, praising the Israeli people’s commitment to democracy and reaffirming Republika Srpska’s unwavering support for Israel.
“My friend Benjamin Netanyahu, congratulations! Likud has once again won the largest number of seats, and that result speaks louder than any opinion poll, campaign or pressure,” Dodik stated.
“You are leading your people through a time when the entire world was being encouraged to look the other way, and Israelis have once again placed their trust in you,” he added.
In a post on X, Dodik wished Netanyahu good health and strength for the challenges ahead.
“May you enjoy good health, and may God give you the strength to face everything that lies ahead,” Dodik wrote.
Dodik praises Israel’s democratic resilience
Dodik also congratulated the State of Israel, describing the elections as a remarkable demonstration of democratic values under exceptionally difficult circumstances.
“These elections are further proof of something rarely seen: the highest level of democracy in a part of the world where so many are hostile to democracy,” Dodik said.
He emphasized that Israeli citizens had exercised their democratic rights despite serious security challenges.
“You voted peacefully, freely and with dignity while facing terrorist attacks, wars along your borders and threats from every direction. Few nations in the world are capable of that,” he stated.
Republika Srpska reaffirms lasting support for Israel
Dodik stressed that Israel had demonstrated that freedom is defended not only through military strength and physical security measures but also through democratic participation.
“Israel has shown that freedom is not defended solely by armies and walls, but also by people going to the polls when times are most difficult,” he said.
Concluding his message, Dodik reaffirmed Republika Srpska’s solidarity with Israel and its people.
“For that, you have our respect and our lasting support. Republika Srpska stands with Israel. Today, tomorrow and always,” Dodik concluded.
