Borac Banja Luka secured their place in the round of 16 of the BiH Cup with a 2–0 away victory over Krajina in Cazin, thanks to a second-half own goal and a late strike from Ante Roguljić.
Krajina, who compete in the second division of the Federation of BiH, put up a respectable fight against the reigning BiH champions.
However, Borac ultimately secured a comfortable victory in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the stadium in Cazin.
Goalless first half despite chances at both ends
Borac head coach Vinko Marinović made several changes to his starting lineup, giving opportunities to different players.
The visitors created several scoring chances during the opening 45 minutes, with Stojan Vranješ coming closest through a dangerous free kick.
However, Krajina goalkeeper Jahaj produced an important save to keep the score level.
The hosts also had opportunities to take the lead, but Borac goalkeeper Damjan Šiškovski remained alert and prevented them from finding the net.
The first half ended without goals.
Own goal and Roguljić strike secure Borac’s victory
Borac broke the deadlock in the 51st minute following an unfortunate own goal by Krajina defender Hušić.
Riđan delivered a cross from the left flank, Vranješ directed a header toward goal, and Hušić inadvertently turned the ball into his own net from approximately five meters out.
The goal gave Borac a 1–0 advantage and put the visitors firmly in control.
Ante Roguljić sealed the victory in the 82nd minute with an impressive individual effort down the right flank, scoring Borac’s second goal.
The 2–0 result secured Marinović’s side a place among the final 16 teams in the BiH Cup.
