The Republika Srpska Under-17 national football team is taking part in the 24th Summer Sports School in Trebinje, an annual programme organised by the Ministry of Family, Youth and Sports of Republika Srpska that will bring together more than 1,000 young athletes across eight sessions.
The fifth session, running from 27 July to 2 August, includes the traditional participation of the Football Association of Republika Srpska (FSRS). A total of 26 players born in 2011, together with the coaching staff, are attending the training camp.
The coaching staff is led by head coach Mladen Obrenović of FK Radnik, assisted by Dejan Babić (OFK Spartak), Srđan Andrić (FK Leotar), and goalkeeping coach Ognjen Šatara (FK Željezničar). Zoran Ančić serves as the team’s secretary.
The squad was selected by the coaching staff in cooperation with clubs competing in the First League and lower divisions of Republika Srpska. Players currently representing clubs in the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina were not included, as the coaching staff already regularly monitors their performances.
Upon arriving in Trebinje, the players and coaching staff were welcomed by Rajko Mičeta, a member of the FSRS Executive Board, who wished the team a successful stay at this year’s Summer Sports School.
During the camp, the delegation is staying at the Student Dormitory of Trebinje, while training sessions are being held at the facilities used by FK Leotar. As part of the programme, the Republika Srpska U-17 team will also play a friendly match against Leotar’s cadet team.
