Hit comedy that conquered the region: Sandra Silađev brings “Session” to Banja Luka’s Kastel Fortress on June 30

After nine sold-out performances at the prestigious MTS Hall in Belgrade, the region’s most-watched theatre production is set to premiere before the Banja Luka audience on June 30.

The Summer Stage of Kastel Fortress will host the third original monodrama by renowned actress and comedian Sandra Silađev – the dark comedy “Session”.

At the centre of the story is Jasna, a woman in her fifties who arrives for what appears to be a routine psychotherapy session. What initially seems like an ordinary conversation about personal struggles quickly evolves into a witty, sharp and at times uncomfortably accurate examination of contemporary society.

A look at the absurdities of modern life

Through Jasna’s emotional and dynamic confession, audiences are confronted with many of the contradictions of modern life, where pain is increasingly measured by applause, humiliation by clicks and social media likes, and privacy has almost completely disappeared into the public sphere.

The play raises some of today’s most pressing questions: Where is the line between honesty and a pathological need for attention? Has the public space become a form of collective therapy? And when did personal suffering become a profitable social currency?

Looking forward to returning to Banja Luka

Author and performer Sandra Silađev expressed her excitement about returning to Banja Luka and performing under the open sky at the historic fortress overlooking the Vrbas River.

“I’m looking forward to coming back to Banja Luka. I still remember the fantastic energy and audience reactions from my previous visit in 2022. This time I’m bringing a new monodrama. ‘Session’ combines psychotherapy, love, family relationships and the search for oneself in times that are both difficult and modern,” Silađev said.
