International promotional activities aimed at positioning Jahorina as a leading winter tourism destination are already delivering results, with growing interest from Turkish tourists ahead of the upcoming ski season, the Jahorina Olympic Center announced.
Preparations for the winter season are well underway, including ski slope maintenance, accommodation arrangements and promotional campaigns targeting international markets.
Ski pass presales underway with significant discounts
The Jahorina Olympic Center confirmed that ski passes for the upcoming season are available for advance purchase through its official online store and at the Poljice ticket office.
A seasonal ski pass covering both daytime and nighttime skiing is currently priced at 1,750 BAM, offering savings of 750 BAM compared with the regular price.
A weekday ski pass is available for 1,250 BAM, while the “Ten Days in a Season” pass costs 620 BAM.
Turkish market shows strong potential
A major step in Jahorina’s international promotion was its participation in the International Tourism Fair in Istanbul, where representatives of the Jahorina Olympic Center presented the destination alongside the Tourist Organization of the City of East Sarajevo.
“We recognize Turkey as a market with significant potential for Jahorina, which was confirmed during the fair. Good air connections with Sarajevo and school holiday periods in Turkey that coincide with our winter season represent important advantages,” the Olympic Center stated.
The Center also confirmed that arrivals of tourists from Turkey have already been arranged.
During the fair, representatives established contacts and reached agreements with Turkish travel agencies, as well as agencies from Poland and Russia.
These partnerships are expected to expand Jahorina’s international tourism network and increase the number of organized group visits.
“Our ambition is not only to achieve a successful winter season, but also to continuously open new markets and strengthen Jahorina’s international recognition,” the Center emphasized.
Hotels report strong bookings from Turkish visitors
The growing interest is already reflected in hotel reservations.
Branislav Timotić, Sales Director at Hotel Termag on Jahorina, said that the second half of January and the beginning of February, traditionally periods of lower occupancy, are now almost fully booked.
According to Timotić, most of these reservations come from Turkish visitors.
Interest is being generated both through travel agencies requesting group accommodation offers and through direct bookings.
Hotel representatives see this development as an encouraging sign for the upcoming winter season.
Jahorina hotels prepare for winter activities
Hotel Lavina has also expressed satisfaction with its cooperation with the Jahorina Olympic Center, emphasizing that coordinated efforts among tourism businesses are essential for the mountain’s continued development.
Nikola Brezo, Director of Hotel Lavina, said that hospitality businesses are actively preparing for the start of the ski season.
Plans include organizing special weekend programs and visitor activities after December 10, depending on weather conditions.
The Jahorina Olympic Center believes that stronger cooperation with international travel agencies, combined with continued investment in tourism infrastructure and coordinated promotional efforts, will help establish Jahorina as an increasingly recognizable winter destination in the international tourism market.
