U.S. President Donald Trump has invested serious effort, political will and clear readiness to achieve peace, SNSD leader Milorad Dodik said.
“However, Iran has once again shown its destructive nature, because every time it thinks the pressure has eased enough, it reveals its true face. Therefore, President Trump’s reaction is understandable and justified,” Dodik wrote on X.
He said that Iran is not only a problem for the Middle East, but that its activities and, as he put it, malign influence have a much broader significance and are felt here in the Balkans as well.
“Since its founding, Republika Srpska has been facing the consequences of such destabilizing policies, which is why we understand very well the danger posed by a policy of conflict, radicalism and undermining peace. During the civil war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iran brought in, organized and trained terrorists to fight against Christians, against us Orthodox Serbs. Republika Srpska will never forget the images of Serbian heads being cut off by terrorists brought here through the activities of Revolutionary Guard commander Qasem Soleimani,” Dodik wrote.
Dodik said that the only way to move Iran out of a permanent state of conflict is peace through strength and a resolute policy with a clear position.
“And through the kind of approach advocated by President Trump. Appeasement fuels aggression, while strength opens the path to peace,” Dodik said.
