Dodik: Questioning of Jasenko Todorović is a continuation of the political inquisition against freedom of speech

The President of SNSD, Milorad Dodik, stated that the questioning of journalist Jasenko Todorović over a television programme he hosted is a continuation of a political inquisition against freedom of speech, freedom of thought, media freedom and the right of journalists to do their job. He stressed that Serbs will never bow their heads to imposed decisions and pressure.

Dodik said that Todorović’s questioning by SIPA represents yet another attempt at intimidation coming from Sarajevo.

“Those who swear every day by democracy and European values are today questioning journalists because of public debate and spoken words,” Dodik wrote on X.

He pointed out the irony that this inquisition is being carried out by the same people who are simultaneously fighting to keep Bosnia and Herzegovina the only country in Europe where final decisions are made by an unelected foreigner rather than by the people and their institutions.

“Perhaps, judging others by themselves, they cannot understand that Serbs will never bow to imposed decisions and pressure,” Dodik emphasized.

He added that Todorović is not an exception, but merely one more person on whom they are trying to demonstrate their authority in order to intimidate everyone else.

“So, Jasenko, do not worry. Every such action only proves not that you have done something wrong, but that they fear free speech. Republika Srpska knows how to recognize and appreciate people who perform their work honestly and professionally,” Dodik concluded.
