Kalabukhov: Visit of Republika Srpska delegation confirms strategic partnership

Igor Kalabukhov stated that the visit of the Republika Srpska delegation to Moscow is another confirmation of the strategic partnership between the Russian Federation and Republika Srpska, from which citizens will benefit.

“And the meeting with President Vladimir Putin is further proof that we communicate constructively, with mutual respect, and that we are capable of achieving practical results,” Kalabukhov emphasized.

He pointed out that it was important that the Republika Srpska delegation, consisting of President Siniša Karan, National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić, and SNSD leader Milorad Dodik, attended the Victory Day Parade in Moscow, stressing that the two peoples share an anti-fascist heritage and will continue to achieve future victories together.

Kalabukhov also highlighted that the visit of the Saint Petersburg delegation to Republika Srpska, as well as the Days of Russian Culture in Republika Srpska, further confirms the strong relations between the two sides.

Speaking about the strategic partnership between the Russian Federation and Republika Srpska, Kalabukhov noted that it is not merely “something written on paper,” but something concrete that every citizen should feel.

“During the visit to Moscow, professors, doctors, cultural workers, technology experts, and others were also present, because we are developing our relations at all levels,” he said.

Kalabukhov announced that economic issues will be discussed during meetings of the Russia–Bosnia and Herzegovina economic commissions, within which a special working group for relations between Russia and Republika Srpska has already been formed.

Regarding relations between Russia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kalabukhov said efforts are being made to improve cooperation and that draft agreements already exist.

“There are certain specific circumstances due to the current geopolitical situation, but overall I hope we will witness stronger cooperation, because in discussions with businesspeople and representatives of political parties we see clear interest from entrepreneurs across Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am optimistic and believe we have good prospects,” the Russian ambassador stated.
