Professor of Constitutional Law, Siniša Karan, stated that the decades-long strong cooperation between Republika Srpska and Serbia reflects the friendly relations and statesmanship of the Presidents of Republika Srpska and Serbia, Milorad Dodik and Aleksandar Vučić. He emphasized that their political and national activism was essential in elevating this cooperation to its current level.
Karan pointed out that the best representation of these relations is the adoption of the historic Declaration on the Protection of National and Political Rights and the Joint Future of the Serbian People at the All-Serb Assembly. This declaration uniquely unites the national and political essence of the singular, autonomous, authentic Serb people.
“The Declaration is a document that erases all boundaries between the Serbian people, no matter where they live. The strength of the All-Serb Assembly is expressed through the Declaration, and under the leadership of Presidents Dodik and Vučić, it represents our path and vision of unity, faith, shared life, and solidarity among all Serbs. There is no alternative!” Karan emphasized.
Karan explained that the effects of the cooperation between Dodik and Vučić, and the Declaration as a historic document, are evident today. Its spirit permeates all activities where this unity is manifested, such as the joint celebrations of the Day of Serb Unity, Freedom, and National Flag, Sretenje, and many other significant dates from Serbian history, particularly our hardships and tribulations from the past.
“Today, we view our history, and the suffering of our people through the centuries, as a unified history of the Serbian people,” Karan stated for Srna, in response to President Vučić’s recent statement about the excellent cooperation with President Dodik and Serbia’s support for Republika Srpska.
He further noted that this cooperation is particularly focused on economic, cultural, and social support, as well as developmental and infrastructural joint capital investments.
“The visionary Declaration, which aims to develop the capacities of the Serb people wherever they live, is an act of the future for all Serbs. Under the leadership of President Dodik of Republika Srpska and President Vučić of Serbia, its long-term strength and purpose will be demonstrated in the times to come,” Karan concluded.
