Radnik to play opening match of fifth round of BiH Premier League against Sarajevo

The football team Radnik has made an excellent start in their return season to the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Bijeljina team is currently unbeaten after three matches, but they will face their toughest test today as they visit the “Asim Ferhatović Hase” stadium.

Their opponent and host will be Sarajevo, which has also started the new championship strongly, achieving three wins out of three. The points tally of both teams promises an exciting match.

Radnik’s goalkeeper, Nikola Lakić, sees an opportunity in the pressure that Sarajevo will face on their home ground.

“Sarajevo has strengthened significantly before the start of the season and has a perfect record, so they are the favorites. We have also started the championship well, achieving good results, so we are going to Sarajevo without pressure, with the desire to play our best match and try to get a favorable result. The pressure is definitely on the home team, and we will certainly give our best in this duel and try to surprise them on their home turf. This is a match where we have nothing to lose, but a favorable result can bring us a lot,” Lakić stated.

Radnik has earned seven points in the first three rounds, which is an excellent start for a team returning to the top tier.

“We are satisfied with the results in the first three rounds. Honestly, even though we have a new team, we are not surprised by the good performances. We worked hard during the preparations, the atmosphere within the team is great, and it shows on the field. It’s this team spirit and fighting mentality that are our main strengths. The team has shown that it can compete at this level, and we hope to continue in the same rhythm,” added Radnik’s goalkeeper for “Glas Srpske”. The coaching staff of Radnik will not be able to count on the injured Nebojša Gavrić for this match.

This match is scheduled for 9 PM and will be the opening game of the fifth round. Other matches of the 5th round: Saturday: Velež – Igman (9 PM), Sunday: Željezničar – Sloga (6:45 PM), Široki Brijeg – Sloboda (9 PM), Monday: Borac – GOŠK (9 PM), Tuesday: Zrinjski – Posušje (9 PM).
