Dodik: Influential figures in the US know about Republika Srpska

“I am very surprised that influential people in the United States are aware of and know what Republika Srpska is,” President Milorad Dodik told RTRS in an interview recorded by Andriana Bjedov, a journalist based in the United States. Dodik attended a MAGA movement conference organized by Donald Trump’s Republican Party in the main hall of Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach.

“Everyone who understands politics, especially in the United States, understands the significance of this conference. That is why it is important for all of us who want good relations with the United States and its governing structures to be here and to speak with many people from the worlds of politics, business and media about our mutual relations and matters of common interest. I would also like to thank our friends here, the Serbs who live in Chicago and across the United States,” Dodik said.

Dodik: Republika Srpska belongs to the sovereigntist conservative movement

Dodik emphasized that Republika Srpska identifies with the sovereigntist conservative movement.

“We do not share the worldview of the liberal-globalist movement. Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election was certainly a great relief and a major change for us, as it created an opportunity for a different voice to be heard from the White House.

“Had that not happened, the world would have continued sinking into liberal-globalist garbage that threatened to destroy all the values of civilization and reduce ordinary people to ‘guinea pigs’ for the failed policies of the globalist era.

“That is why Trump’s victory is extremely important and the most significant event of our time, and why maintaining communication and relations with the Trump administration is essential,” Dodik added.

Trump’s position on non-interference in other countries

Dodik recalled that Trump had stated on several occasions that he did not want US policy to involve interference in the political affairs of other countries.

“In other words, the United States would no longer engage in building other peoples and nations, and that this would be a matter for those peoples and nations themselves, including their right to self-determination and freedom. We had waited a long time to hear that,” Dodik stressed.

He also claimed that what he described as the American “deep state” had pursued policies directed against Republika Srpska for years.

“The people who participated in drafting the Dayton Peace Agreement ultimately undermined it. They did not read it but interpreted it without any foundation, constantly placing us in an inferior position because it was not easy to stand up to such a powerful force.

“We experienced a continuous pattern of poor relations whenever Democrats occupied the White House. They wanted Republika Srpska to disappear and to establish a unitary BiH,” Dodik stated.

Republika Srpska’s voice must be heard in Washington

Dodik emphasized that it was therefore important for Republika Srpska’s voice to be heard in the United States.

“It is important for us to hear that we will have the right to full freedom and to identify ourselves as an Orthodox people belonging to Christian civilization.

“We have a problem with extremism coming from the Muslim side, which wants everything for itself and has skillfully exploited Western elites by spreading false narratives.

“Bosniaks have brought themselves into a position where neither Serbs nor Croats feel comfortable with them. They have demonstrated that they are directly opposed to the Trump administration, waiting for it to pass so that they can continue where they left off before Trump.

“BiH can survive only by adhering to the letter of the Dayton Peace Agreement, with two entities and three constituent peoples,” Dodik said.

Dodik: Serbs emerge stronger from difficult times

Concluding his remarks, Dodik emphasized that Serbs have always emerged stronger and more united from difficult and challenging periods.

“Regardless of the challenges, Serbs will never abandon the idea of Serbian identity, Orthodox Christianity, the family patron saint celebration known as krsna slava, or the Serbian Orthodox Church,” Dodik concluded.
