The exhibition “Foča Falcon” will open at the Museum of Republika Srpska in Banja Luka on Thursday, October 22, at 7:00 p.m., marking the 130th anniversary of the founding of the Sokol Society in Foča.
The origins of the Sokol movement in Foča date back to the summer of 1893, when medical student Risto Jeremić initiated the establishment of a local Sokol society.
Since then, the activities of this sporting, cultural and national organization have formed an important part of Foča’s history.
The exhibition was curated by historian Danko Mihajlović and features materials from the Museum of Old Herzegovina, alongside documents and items preserved in the family archives of the Jeremić, Hadživuković and Grujičić families.
Visitors will have the opportunity to see original artifacts and replicas, as well as 20 exhibition panels presenting a chronological overview of the Sokol Society’s activities between 1893 and 1941.
