Police have arrested two Sarajevo men suspected of attacking a 92-year-old Serb returnee in Vogošća, identified by the initials A.Š., the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs told SRNA.
The suspects, identified as A.K., 27, and M.K., 25, both residents of Vogošća, were arrested on Monday, August 31, at 2:00 p.m. They are suspected of attempted robbery.
The duty prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office was informed of the case, while the suspects were taken to the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs detention facilities.
A family member of the elderly Serb returnee said he was attacked during the night of August 25–26 and severely beaten, after which he suffered a stroke.
According to her, the victim’s 68-year-old son, B.Š., was also in the house at the time of the attack.
She said that after waking up and seeing what was happening, B.Š. chased after the attackers. According to her account, the assailants then fired shots at him but did not hit him.
