Marija Tica Kovačević, a street artist from Bijeljina, has begun painting a mural on the facade of the gymnasium at the Sveti Sava Elementary School in Lopare.
The mural, featuring a European red deer, is being created as part of the Park Fest Majevica festival and is expected to be completed before the festival begins.
Marija Tica is the founder and driving force behind the Meraki Mural Fest in Bijeljina and the artist behind several notable murals across the region, including those at the old school in Priboj. With her distinctive artistic style, she is creating a work that will enrich Lopare’s public space.
The mural will be presented to visitors during the Park Fest Majevica festival, which will take place from August 21 to 23.
European red deer were reintroduced to Mount Majevica several years ago after disappearing from the area during the war. A total of 24 animals were released into the forests of Majevica.
