Case opened over alleged illegal activities at Srebrenica Memorial Center

The Bijeljina District Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened a case concerning suspicions of illegal activities at the Srebrenica Memorial Center, but a decision on whether to launch a formal investigation has not yet been made, the Prosecutor’s Office told Srna.

The Prosecutor’s Office explained that, under the supervision of the prosecutor handling the case, measures and actions are being taken to verify the information and complaint submitted regarding grounds for suspicion that the criminal offense of tax and contribution evasion may have been committed.

The prosecutor handling the case has requested that relevant documentation be collected, while authorized officials are also taking measures and conducting activities aimed at verifying the allegations and gathering evidence.

A decision to launch a formal investigation has not yet been made, and all persons are currently being questioned as witnesses.

Once all relevant documentation and evidence have been collected, the prosecutor will be in a position to make a final prosecutorial decision, the Prosecutor’s Office said.
