Committee for the Protection of Serb Rights asks why crosses are still being destroyed and churches vandalized in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Committee for the Protection of Serb Rights in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has published a video featuring the wartime president of the then Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina addressing his soldiers about the nature of the war, the reasons for their struggle and the belief that those who die in battle “have not truly died.”

According to the Committee, the recording helps explain the destruction of Orthodox monuments.

“The wartime president of the then Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina explains to his soldiers the nature of the war, the reasons for their struggle and tells them that those who die have not truly died. That is what is written in their religious book,” the Committee stated.

The Committee said the speech explains the motives for the conflict and seeks to boost the morale of the troops from a religious perspective.

“It is completely clear that since 1990, the dominance of one religious group has permeated every aspect of society and that religious principles have taken precedence over laws, documents and agreements. Recordings like this best explain why crosses continue to be destroyed and Orthodox churches vandalized in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to this day,” the Committee said.
