SNSD Vice President Željka Cvijanović stated today in Banja Luka that the role of High Representatives in Bosnia and Herzegovina should have been abolished long ago, especially the Bonn Powers.
“There should not even be a Peace Implementation Council, because it is not founded on any decisions nor on the Dayton Peace Agreement,” Cvijanović said.
She stressed that it is unbelievable that, 30 years after the introduction of what she described as a monstrous structure that imposes decisions, there is still discussion about whether the OHR and the High Representative should continue to exist.
“The only way for Bosnia and Herzegovina to survive is for such mechanisms to be eliminated from the political, and especially the institutional, life of Bosnia and Herzegovina. I can tolerate a High Representative who has returned to his original role in accordance with Annex 10 of the Dayton Peace Agreement and nothing more,” Cvijanović said.
