The West is trying to cut off all communication between Serbs and Russia, NATO and the EU are on the same side, and integration into the Union will not benefit the Serb people in any way, SNSD President Milorad Dodik told TASS.
Dodik explained that the EU has literally surrounded Serbia and Republika Srpska, noting that all of its member states surrounding them — Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and Italy — are also NATO members.
“At the same time, they are trying to bring Montenegro and Albania into the European Union. That process will probably accelerate. This makes us an isolated island from which they can easily cut off all communications,” Dodik explained.
He said that Serbs are emotionally attached to Russia, that they are brotherly peoples who share the same roots.
“But they do not like that. They see our closeness to the Russians, which is why they persistently try to abolish both Serbia and Republika Srpska and thus resolve the issue of the alleged Russian influence,” Dodik assessed.
He also pointed out that outdated European elites have not abandoned their militant intentions to transform the EU into a military alliance rather than a political union and that they are therefore currently pursuing a clear objective — creating strategic footholds for pressure on Russia.
He stressed that Europeans continue to wage war against Russia through Ukraine, assessing that Kyiv would long ago have been defeated had it not been for the belligerent intentions of the EU and its outdated elites, which are attempting to turn the EU into a military alliance instead of a political union.
“That is why they are now trying to expand their influence into Moldova, Armenia and other areas,” Dodik believes.
He added that their goal is obviously to secure strategic footholds from which to exert pressure on Russia and, more generally, on the eastern direction.
He stated that Europeans understand that emerging from this crisis will be difficult and are therefore seeking a solution through militarization.
Dodik also assessed that the attack on Starobilsk, planned by Kyiv and the Europeans, was intended to provoke a wave of discontent in Russia.
“They hoped to provoke a wave of dissatisfaction in Russia. This is a completely perverse way of thinking. In other words, they harmed themselves and then tried to shift the blame onto someone else,” Dodik commented.
Dodik also stated that the EU did not want former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder to negotiate with Russia, assessing that EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas is an incompetent woman chosen for this position at such difficult times.
“That is a disaster for Europe. I have nothing against women; we see some very successful politicians among them. But Kaja Kallas is certainly not successful,” Dodik assessed.
He believes that Schröder is a good negotiator and a good intermediary for properly presenting Russia’s position in Europe.
“It would be interesting to hear him say that European policies of recent years were wrong and that the German economy suffered a collapse because of them,” Dodik said.
According to him, Europe is currently in a humiliating position by rejecting relations with China and Russia.
He is also of the opinion that Russia should not place too much trust in the alleged good intentions of Germany and German business circles while Berlin continues to pursue a policy of militarization.
He stated that it is quite difficult to fully trust the intentions of Western countries and their business communities toward Russia, since they “actually have a negative attitude” and “there is a certain degree of falsehood in all their actions”.
“We have seen this in the case of the previously signed Minsk and Dayton agreements. The West clearly violated them,” Dodik concluded.
