The Petar Kočić Theatre Festival is among the most important cultural events that place Banja Luka among cities with a rich and dynamic cultural scene, one that understands that the mission of culture is not only to nourish the soul, but also to open minds and courageously remove the taboos that continue to burden human civilization even deep into the 21st century, said Acting Director of the Office for International Cooperation of Republika Srpska, Ana Trišić Babić.
- That is precisely why culture is not merely an expression of artistic creativity, but also one of the most important pillars of the identity of Republika Srpska. We are proud of this courage, proud of our artists who, in the coming days, will bring the spirit of this most significant cultural event to 14 cities across Republika Srpska. They will not only bring the joy of artistic experience, but also leave us reflecting on the persistence of chronic social problems, among which the position of women remains a painful issue in many societies around the world – Trišić Babić emphasized.
She added that for years, the artists of Republika Srpska have been among its finest ambassadors.
- Through their talent, work and achievements, they carry the name of our Republic far beyond its borders, and these days they also have the special privilege of hosting friends of theatre from across the region. Theatre is one of the rare places where society can honestly speak to itself. That is why festivals such as the Theatre Festival are much more than artistic events. They are proof that we have the strength to ask questions, examine ourselves and continually seek the very best within us – Trišić Babić stated in a post on the social network X.
It should be recalled that the 28th Petar Kočić Theatre Festival has opened in Banja Luka.
