Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željka Cvijanović announced that she will visit Israel at the end of the month, where she is scheduled to hold meetings at the highest level.
Cvijanović said she was satisfied with the diplomatic activities carried out in the previous period aimed at improving the international position of Republika Srpska, emphasizing that significant efforts had been invested together with SNSD leader Milorad Dodik and a team of associates.
She pointed out that Republika Srpska had been exposed to pressure and major injustices for years, but now maintains strong contacts with Russia, Israel, Hungary and the new American administration.
- Republika Srpska is on the right path. We know what we are doing – Cvijanović said.
She stressed that this represents a new beginning in the international community’s approach toward Bosnia and Herzegovina, meaning that the practices of the past 30 years will no longer continue.
Cvijanović stated that Sarajevo is discrediting itself in the eyes of the American administration by claiming that the lifting of sanctions against officials of Republika Srpska was paid for.
- Those stories are nonsense. That narrative comes from Sarajevo and is then accepted by the opposition in Republika Srpska. They are desperate and unable to accept reality – Cvijanović told K3 Television.
She recalled that the sanctioned officials held the highest offices and were targeted because they represented Republika Srpska and pursued a policy centered on Republika Srpska.
Cvijanović noted that the world today functions through lobbying activities and that Sarajevo cannot accept that the world is changing.
- We want interventionism to come to an end. Why is it in anyone’s interest to continue a protectorate? – Cvijanović asked.
She emphasized that officials of Republika Srpska had successfully responded to every challenge, adding that only a serious political strategy can achieve such results.
- President Milorad Dodik succeeded in demonstrating that the proceedings against him were not initiated in pursuit of justice, but rather as an attempt to confront the will of the voters, and that attracted attention – Cvijanović said.
