Kecmanović: Global match-fixing managers are already preparing a new High Representative in BiH

Nenad Kecmanović stated that Milorad Dodik returned to the political arena strengthened even without holding state office, while, as he claims, “global managers of match-fixing are already preparing a new High Representative in BiH.”

If the new High Representative is appointed in accordance with Annex 10 of the Dayton Peace Agreement, that would represent a political point for Dodik and Republika Srpska, Kecmanović said, adding that if the Bonn powers remain in place, the peoples of BiH will once again be “led in circles.”

Kecmanović assessed that the international community never wanted a permanent system in BiH based on domestic democratic institutions envisioned by the Dayton Agreement, but that the later introduction of the so-called Bonn powers replaced “domestic democracy with foreign dictatorship.”

He argued that legal manipulation and what he described as tendentious, distorted, malicious, or directly false interpretations of certain Dayton provisions must be politically “paid for.”

Kecmanović also stated that the Serbs disrupt what he described as a relationship of “master and servant,” which is why, according to him, foreign actors portray them as a constant threat to peace and stability.

He recalled that ahead of the 30th anniversary of the Dayton Agreement, Dodik launched what he described as an offensive against the OHR and what he called the “illegitimate” Christian Schmidt by annulling all of Schmidt’s decisions directed against Republika Srpska, culminating in a ban on Schmidt entering the “smaller entity.”

“Dodik attacked Schmidt directly with lowered guard, then skillfully evaded a dangerous blow that threatened a knockout. After swinging into empty space, the false High Representative staggered and politically collapsed, and after several attempts by Merz to lift him back up, referee Trump began counting to ten, forcing the chancellor to throw in the towel,” Kecmanović wrote in an authored text for Politika.
