Larisa Rojnić said that Trio ILUsion was created through years of cooperation and shared artistic development.
“Uroš and I met during our studies in Graz, where we performed together for years. Isidora joined us through Uroš, with whom she has been friends for a long time, and our mutual wish to perform chamber music naturally led to the formation of the trio,” Rojnić said in an interview for Glas Srpske.
The ensemble will perform tonight at 8 p.m. at Banski Dvor Cultural Centre.
She emphasized that mentorship from Professor Chia Chou played a major role in the trio’s artistic growth.
“Our first rehearsals were held in Graz in December, when we quickly recognized artistic compatibility and a shared sensibility. Through working with him, we do not learn only how to play, but how to listen, communicate and shape our own interpretation, which is the foundation of quality chamber music performance,” she said.
Programme built on Schubert and Shostakovich
Rojnić said the centerpiece of the programme is Franz Schubert’s Second Piano Trio in E-flat major, one of the landmark works of chamber literature.
“The work lasts around 50 minutes and spans a wide emotional range, from joy to deep melancholy, with subtle influences of folk music and dance elements integrated into a complex structure.”
The trio will also perform the First Piano Trio by Dmitri Shostakovich, written when he was only seventeen.
“With this programme based on Schubert and Shostakovich, we aim to convey richness of expression and the powerful inner drama of both works.”
Career shaped in Vienna and Graz
Rojnić described her orchestral debut in Vienna performing Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto as one of the turning points of her career.
“Working with an orchestra is something every soloist strives for, but few get the opportunity so early in their development. It is a special feeling to hear a piece prepared individually come alive in full orchestral sound.”
She added that her studies in Graz were decisive for her artistic growth, providing top-level education, excellent conditions and daily contact with quality instruments.
Future plans
Following the concert in Banja Luka, the trio plans to intensify concert activity and continue working with Professor Chia Chou through seminars and masterclasses.
“Our next artistic goal is the First Piano Trio by Johannes Brahms. Long term, we aim to systematically explore the key works of chamber literature, including compositions by Ludwig van Beethoven, Robert Schumann, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and other great masters,” Rojnić said.
