Tennis player Andrej Nedić has advanced to the semifinals of the Challenger tournament being held in Kazakhstan.
The young player from Doboj defeated American Dali Blanch in the quarterfinals of the tournament in Shymkent in straight sets, 2-0.
In the opening set, Nedić was highly confident and quickly secured a break to take a 4-1 lead. He then claimed another break and won the first set 6-2.
He was even stronger in the second set, earning two breaks to move ahead 4-0. A brief lapse in concentration allowed Blanch to cut the deficit to 4-2.
However, the Doboj-born player remained composed in the closing stages, converting his third match point to take the second set 6-2 and seal his place in the semifinals.
