“How will ‘Novo Trebinje’ look”

“Representatives of the City of Trebinje presented the ‘Novo Trebinje’ project, which has been assessed as one of the greatest development opportunities not only for the city, but also for Republika Srpska.”

“The project, which has particular importance for addressing housing needs, attracting investment, and creating conditions to retain young people, was presented by the President of the Association of Municipalities and Cities of Eastern Herzegovina, Luka Petrović, the Mayor of Trebinje, Mirko Ćurić, and the Head of the Department for Capital Investments, Siniša Vučurević.”

“Petrović emphasized that ‘Novo Trebinje’ represents a long-term and strategic vision of planned urban development that has not yet been realized in any local community in Republika Srpska.”

“‘The construction of Novo Trebinje is planned in three phases, encompassing residential and business zones, as well as a new traffic artery that will directly connect the existing city core with the new urban area,’ Petrović said.”

“He added that the project includes complete infrastructure and all necessary facilities for a high-quality life—schools, a health center, kindergartens, a sports hall, and other public facilities.”

“Mayor of Trebinje Mirko Ćurić stressed that special emphasis has been placed on the possibility of purchasing real estate at more favorable prices, with promotional conditions for early investors, which makes ‘Novo Trebinje’ a serious opportunity for both citizens and business owners.”

“‘We will pay special attention to facilities for young people,’ Ćurić added.”

“During the presentation, it was also highlighted that the permit for the construction of the Trebinje airport, in the part relating to construction works, is expected in August, which would further enhance the transport and economic connectivity of this area.”

“The project will cover approximately 380 hectares, and by linking with the City of the Sun, the total area of the future urban complex will amount to around 420 hectares.”

“The Head of the City Department for Urban Planning, Amerisa Zavitan Jeftović, previously stated that the new urban plan envisages the expansion of the city, with a special focus on the formation of Novo Trebinje, which will also receive the first Mediterranean park in Republika Srpska.”

“She emphasized that the Urban Plan is legally binding and represents the basic spatial-planning document for the next 15 years.”

“The first phase of the project is planned to be completed by 2030, the second by 2040, while the completion of the third phase is envisaged by 2050.”

“During the event, a promotional film about Novo Trebinje was also shown, presenting the planned traffic routes and facilities, and attendees included heads of city departments, businesspeople, and directors of public enterprises and institutions, who put forward their suggestions and proposals.”
