Dodik: Republika Srpska functions without problems, while the rest of Bosnia and Herzegovina remains in political turmoil

SNSD leader Milorad Dodik stated that Republika Srpska remains stable and functions without difficulties, while the rest of Bosnia and Herzegovina is facing ongoing political turmoil.

Dodik said that Republika Srpska continues to resist tendencies aimed at the centralisation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He argued that Bosnia and Herzegovina is not a sovereign country, but rather “a colony and a training ground for third-rate foreigners”, adding that all constituent peoples are dissatisfied with the current situation and that new solutions should be sought.

According to Dodik, Republika Srpska has for years been exposed to numerous challenges at the state level, including attempts to impose the supremacy of joint institutions over Republika Srpska’s authorities outside the framework established by the Dayton Peace Agreement.

“Such a flawed approach has resulted in the collapse of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s foreign policy, which today represents only one political component and sends misleading information across Europe and the world to partners who are willing to hear it and accept it as truth,” Dodik said in Gradiška ahead of the forum titled The (Geo)Strategic Direction of Republika Srpska.

He added that Republika Srpska must therefore ensure that its own perspective on political developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina is clearly presented to the international community, while also explaining the current situation to its citizens.

Without internal stability, Dodik stressed, Republika Srpska cannot play any meaningful role on today’s increasingly unstable global political stage. He added that understanding contemporary geopolitical developments is essential for strengthening its position in the international arena.
