Karan–Posa: Srpska has always had a good friend in Hungary

Minister for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska, Siniša Karan, met today with the Ambassador of Hungary to BiH, Krisztián Posa.

It was emphasized that Republika Srpska has always had a good friend and reliable support in Hungary, especially during difficult and challenging times when such friendship was most needed.

The two officials discussed ways to strengthen ties between Hungary and Republika Srpska, particularly in the fields of science, technology, and higher education.

Minister Karan recalled that in March, the Ministry signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade within the framework of the “Stipendium Hungaricum” scholarship program for the 2025–2028 period.

In addition, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to enhance cooperation in diplomatic training between the Ministry for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska and the Hungarian Diplomatic Academy of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the ministry stated in a press release.

Karan noted that several faculties from both public universities in Republika Srpska maintain active cooperation with Hungarian universities, primarily through the exchange of students and academic staff.

Ambassador Posa expressed confidence that the strong relations and partnership between Republika Srpska and Hungary will continue to advance in the future through various joint projects and initiatives of mutual interest to both the scientific and academic communities.
