Panenka: We must strongly oppose politically motivated verdicts by decaying regimes afraid of their own voters

We are witnessing a dangerous trend in the direction that judicial systems and political regimes are taking in many European countries, stated Czech journalist Radim Panenka, commenting on the convictions of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik and Marine Le Pen, leader of France’s right-wing National Rally party.

“Marine Le Pen (France), Călin Georgescu (Romania), Matteo Salvini (Italy), Andrej Babiš (Czech Republic), Milorad Dodik (Republika Srpska), and Donald Trump (USA)—along with other popular politicians—have faced or are facing legal efforts aimed at removing them from the political arena in order to prevent them from threatening the power of the current ruling structures,” Panenka wrote on the social media platform X.

He stressed that it is essential to strongly oppose politically motivated verdicts imposed by decaying regimes that fear their own voters.
