Minister of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska and professor of Constitutional Law, Siniša Karan, stated that the primary duty of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) is to protect the constitutional order and emphasized that no one will be arrested.
- The task of MUP is to protect the constitutional order, its constitutional institutions, the representatives of all institutions, and all its citizens. This task will be fulfilled completely, Karan told ATV.
He recalled that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska has passed laws defining the framework within which the Ministry of Internal Affairs operates.
- These laws state that the Court and Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), and the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council are unconstitutional institutions and are prohibited from operating on the territory of Republika Srpska. This is the operational framework for MUP, Karan added.
“Full protection for Srpska’s officials and citizens”
Karan stressed that President of Republika Srpska, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister, ministers, and all citizens have full protection.
- They will have full integrity provided by MUP. These institutions cannot, will not, and must not operate on the territory of Republika Srpska. These are the laws of Republika Srpska. We are bound by the Constitution, our ethical, moral, and professional duty, and that is the responsibility of MUP. No one will be arrested, and everyone will be protected, Karan concluded.
