Marko Romić, advisor to the President of Republika Srpska, told RTRS that a wave of freedom is palpable in American society following Donald Trump’s inauguration.
Romić, part of the Republika Srpska delegation attending the inauguration at the Capitol arena, stated that Trump’s inaugural address has made it clear that nations around the world are anticipating change.
He emphasized that Trump’s policies will have to be implemented by all officials he appoints, including those sent to Bosnia and Herzegovina, adding that this will bring a shift from the previous approach to one that respects all three sides, avoiding the bias seen in the past.
The delegation from Srpska remains at the arena to await Trump’s arrival and speech. Following this, they will attend the Freedom Ball, the most significant of the three official inaugural balls.
Ranko Ristić, from the Serb-American Political Committee, told RTRS that this day will be remembered as the rebirth of America, with a clear message at the inauguration that America is returning to the global stage.
Ristić noted that Trump is expected to sign close to 200 executive orders, all aimed at overturning numerous policies of the previous administration.
He highlighted that the most significant message delivered today was the expectation of global peace.
“I firmly believe we are witnessing a historic moment,” Ristić concluded.
