Acting director of Gas-Res Banjaluka, Nikica Vranješ, stated to RTRS that the gas supply in Republika Srpska is running smoothly, as the gas quantities for this year have been secured through an agreement with Gazprom.
Vranješ noted that Gas-Res has the contractual advantage of setting gas prices on a quarterly basis, which minimizes dependency on daily market fluctuations.
“The price difference compared to last year is minimal, offering our consumers price stability,” he said, adding that gas remains an energy source of the future.
He emphasized that while various crises cause market disruptions, the sanctions against NIS are not affecting gas supplies in Republika Srpska.
“These sanctions will primarily impact central Europe,” Vranješ stated, adding that alternative solutions are always found.
Vranješ further highlighted the importance of ensuring diversification of supply sources. In this regard, he stressed the strategic significance of constructing the eastern gas interconnection.
“It is crucial for us that when an international agreement for the southern gas interconnection is signed, the agreement for the construction of the eastern interconnection is signed simultaneously,” Vranješ concluded.
