The President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, stated that he defends Republika Srpska and everything it represents, emphasizing that there is always the same orchestrated campaign against those who strongly advocate Serb positions.
“Let me be clear: I helped create Republika Srpska, and today I defend everything it has and stands for. The campaign orchestrated against me every January 9 or whenever I make a statement is always the same. The model is simple—anyone who strongly advocates Serb positions must be labeled either a criminal or a war criminal,” Stevandić wrote on the social media platform X.
He highlighted that producing videos and illustrations featuring the so-called “red van,” with which everyone knows he has no connection, or filing criminal charges for alleged war crimes by associations from Srebrenica aiming to exploit their victims through hatred against Republika Srpska or political persecution of Serb leaders—supported by various organizations and institutes (such as the one in Canada) with a “genocide” prefix—constitutes the criminal offense of false reporting.
“Additionally, they encourage various extremists to threaten me and my family with death,” Stevandić pointed out.
He also stressed that there are laws addressing this, which, as always, are not applied when something harms Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina—or the Balkans.
“I understand everyone’s pain and losses. My family, the Stevandićs, buried three of our loved ones who were killed or died in the war. I try to avoid saying anything ugly or offensive, but I have to tell you this: You’ve overdone it…” Stevandić concluded.
