KUD “Zelengora” marked three decades of existence

The Cultural and Artistic Society “Zelengora” from Gacko held its traditional annual concert, celebrating 30 years of work and existence.

All ensembles, from the youngest to the oldest members, worked diligently to prepare choreographies that showcased Herzegovina and the Gacko region through dance and song, preserving the spirit of tradition.

This dedication to tradition has been the main motto of KUD “Zelengora.”

“We are very proud of all the years behind us and the successes we have achieved,” said Jelena Tepavčević from KUD “Zelengora.”

It is both an honor and a privilege to be part of a society with a three-decade-long tradition.

The younger generations have the task of faithfully preserving, nurturing, and passing on culture and tradition.

The number of members in KUD “Zelengora” varies, and currently, there are 120 active members organized into three groups.

The society is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions. With their dances and songs, they have performed in 32 countries worldwide.

“We are proud because we know the parts of the world we’ve visited and the cultural treasures we’ve brought back to Gacko,” emphasized Sanja Mitrić, choreographer at KUD “Zelengora.”

The concert also featured guest performances by guslar Maksim Vojvodić, KUD “Prosvjeta” from Berkovići, members of the Association of Guslars and Epic Songs “Tešan Podrugović,” and children from the Gacko kindergarten.
