The President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, expressed his gratitude to the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, for his congratulatory message on Rosh Hashanah, emphasizing that, especially during this challenging time, he finds comfort in such strong expressions of friendship and the wish for a year of peace and joy for the Jewish people.
- “As you rightly pointed out, Israel is engaged in a war of self-defense, a war that has been brutally imposed upon us by a murderous horde of enemies intent on undermining our existence. Even today, as we fight against Iran and its terrorist proxies, more than 100 hostages are being held under terrible conditions in Gaza,” President Herzog stated.
He stressed that the international community must do everything in its power to enable the release of “our mothers and fathers, our husbands and wives, our daughters and sons, and return them to their families.”
- “As you so beautifully wrote, Republika Srpska has remained steadfast in its support of Israel. We will remember your unwavering demonstration of solidarity during this difficult period, and I personally thank you for your courageous stance at this moment of moral clarity,” Herzog emphasized.
The President of Israel thanked the President of Srpska for his warm and compassionate wishes and congratulations on the Jewish New Year.
- “Let us hope, pray, and work for better days ahead,” Herzog concluded.
