Vranješ: Citizens should express their opinion on the process against the President of Srpska before the Court of BiH

The BiH Ambassador to Serbia, Aleksandar Vranješ, stated for RTRS that a referendum should be held as soon as possible in Republika Srpska, where citizens would express their opinion on whether the process should be conducted against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and the acting director of the Official Gazette, Miloš Lukić, and whether they would accept the verdict.

  • “In this way, citizens should obligate all officeholders on how to act in the case of such verdicts. We need to establish a defense mechanism, as this concept is aimed at undermining the autonomy of Republika Srpska,” Vranješ said, adding that unity is crucial at this moment, as Srpska faces numerous attacks and challenges.

He emphasized that the trial against Dodik and Lukić is absurd, as is the existence of the Court and Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, which, according to him, operate against Srpska and the Serb people.

Vranješ reminded that the Court and Prosecutor’s Office of BiH are neither part of the Dayton Agreement nor constitutional categories, but were imposed by the decision of the High Representative and have not been constitutionalized to this day.

  • “A non-existent court, based on the indictment of a non-existent prosecutor’s office, is judging the President of Srpska for a non-existent criminal offense imposed by a non-existent High Representative,” Vranješ said.

He stressed that through this process, which he called a farce, there is an attempt to deny Dodik the right to political activity and to target Serb officials in BiH.

  • “We are dealing with a complete absurdity when it comes to this process, and we see that no rational legal mechanism can explain it. Dodik agreed to all of this precisely to expose this absurdity,” Vranješ said.

Vranješ pointed out that a part of the international community, particularly the U.S. Embassy, is behind this process, treating BiH as its colony.
