The footballers of the Bosnian champion, Borac, will commence their preparations today at 10 AM after a two-week break. The coaching staff, led by Vinko Marinović, will conduct a roll call for the upcoming season in which the Banja Luka team aims to defend their title and make strides on the international stage.

“After initial testing and medical examinations, we plan to leave for Slovenia, specifically to Zreče, on June 17. We will stay there until the 28th and play three friendly matches during that period,” Marinović emphasized.

This preparation period will set the stage for Banja Luka’s challenges on the European scene, as the “red-blues” will be seeded in the first qualifying round for the Champions League. The name of their opponent will be revealed on June 18, with the first matches scheduled for July 9 and 10, and the return legs a week later.

“There’s not much time until the first European match, so we expect to work hard over the next month. I believe we will achieve everything planned for this period,” added Marinović.

It is still unclear which players from the championship season will continue to wear the Borac jersey in the upcoming championship, but it is evident that the list of players whose contracts have expired or will expire at the end of June is quite long. For now, the only certainty is that Milan Makarić, who played for Borac on loan from Aalborg, has returned to Denmark.
