Srđan Mazalica, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for European Integration and Regional Cooperation of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, expects that the victory of right-wing movements in the European Parliament elections will reduce the pressure on Republika Srpska.
“All sovereignist parties see that the rights of Republika Srpska are being suppressed in BiH, they view the rise of Islamic radicalism in Europe unfavorably, and they see Srpska as one of the barriers to this. I expect that Republika Srpska will now have louder support in the European Parliament and the European Commission,” Mazalica said.
He mentioned that the European Parliament elections showed that right-wing movements, which are sovereignist in the largest European countries, either won or achieved significant election results, which will affect the overall policy in the European Parliament.
“This does not mean an increase in radical positions and the intensification of some political relations, but it shows that Europe is tired of the rule and management of American and neoliberal policies that trample on and neglect the interests of individual states and peoples and submerge them in global interests,” Mazalica explained.
He stated that in Germany, the ruling “traffic light coalition” fell to 30 percent, which calls into question their continued governance, while the high result of the Alternative for Germany and the evident return of the Christian Democratic Union were expected.
