Košarac: Murphy’s obsession and hatred toward Republika Srpska warrant medical evaluation

Deputy Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers Staša Košarac has sharply criticized former US Ambassador to BiH Michael Murphy, accusing him of continuing to fight lost political battles on social media and claiming that his alleged obsession and hatred toward Republika Srpska and the Serb people have long warranted medical evaluation and treatment.

“Murphy simply cannot come to terms with the fact that Republika Srpska has not been destroyed or disappeared, as he had planned. That is why he continues to confront President Milorad Dodik, Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović and the leadership of Republika Srpska. Apparently, all the political harm he caused to everyone in BiH was not enough,” Košarac told SRNA, commenting on Murphy’s social media post concerning the United Nations Security Council session.

Košarac accuses Murphy of attempting to undermine Republika Srpska

Košarac argued that Murphy’s objective had never been to understand or respect the Dayton Peace Agreement.

Instead, he claimed, the former ambassador had sought to politically discipline Republika Srpska, weaken its leadership and disregard the electoral will of the Serb people.

“In that effort, he had an entire network of political allies and operatives — from the occupier Schmidt, through judicial structures and political Sarajevo, to part of the opposition in Republika Srpska. All of them, each in their own way, participated in attempts to politically eliminate the legitimately elected representatives of Republika Srpska,” Košarac stated.

Košarac: Trump’s administration has a different political approach

Košarac further claimed that Murphy now faces another problem: his inability to accept that the administration of US President Donald Trump has adopted a fundamentally different political approach from the one Murphy advocated.

According to Košarac, relations between the United States and Republika Srpska should be determined by legitimate institutions and their current leadership, rather than by former diplomatic representatives.

“It is high time Murphy understood that relations between the United States and Republika Srpska are decided by legitimate institutions and the current leadership, not by a former ambassador who, on behalf of who knows whom, continues to fight lost political battles,” Košarac concluded.
