Following their meeting at the Munich Security Conference in February, Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović said it was a pleasure to once again meet with U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz, this time in New York.
“During the meeting, we discussed the current political and economic situation in BiH, as well as opportunities to strengthen cooperation in all relevant areas. We are very grateful for the opportunity to present our legitimate positions at many important addresses in the United States,” Cvijanović wrote on Instagram.
She added that considerable work remains ahead, but emphasized the importance of knowing whom one represents and remaining committed to one’s goals.
“There is still a lot of work ahead of us, but when you know who you represent and that you are on the right path, no task is too difficult and no road is too long,” Cvijanović said.
Cvijanović is currently visiting the United States, where she attended a reception in New York hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump for heads of state and government attending the UN General Assembly, following what was described as a direct invitation from the White House.
She also addressed the annual Concordia Summit in New York, where she spoke about current challenges and what she described as the need to reaffirm democracy in BiH.
