Law professor Ljubinko Mitrović said he expects the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina to promptly launch an investigation into Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković after he announced the withdrawal of staff from the BiH Embassy in Belgrade.
Mitrović argued that Konaković’s actions could involve several criminal offenses under the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He stressed that, under the constitutional framework of Bosnia and Herzegovina, foreign policy is determined and conducted by the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, rather than the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mitrović described Konaković’s move as a serious attack on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly following the European Union’s official position that Ratko Mladić was not buried with state honors.
