The posthumously published works of publicist and historian Rade Likić from Ljubinje, who passed away in 2024, were presented at the Dr Ljubo Mihić National Library in Ljubinje.
The collected works were prepared by members of Likić’s family together with his friends and are based on research and projects that he was unable to complete and publish due to his untimely death.
Rade Likić was a well-known publicist and researcher and was regarded as one of the leading experts on the history, culture, and traditions of Herzegovina.
For years, he collected and preserved stories, historical records, customs, monuments, and other elements of Herzegovina’s cultural heritage. Much of his work was devoted to Ljubinje and the surrounding areas.
Likić was the author of the book Đed koji je čuvao karpuzu and had also been preparing a second book.
He is particularly remembered for his extensive knowledge of Herzegovina’s past and for his dedication to sharing that knowledge with others, helping preserve the historical memory and cultural heritage of the region for future generations.
